Jim is a member of the firm's commercial real estate and development section. His practice focuses on all aspects and types of commercial real estate practice, including representing tenants and landlords in lease preparation and negotiation and buyers and sellers in purchase transactions. Jim also acts as lender's counsel to financial institutions in loan transactions. In addition, Jim has a background in mergers & acquisitions, corporate financings and general business matters. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, Jim practiced at Bass, Berry & Sims PLC in Nashville, Tennessee.
Jim received his law degree with honors in May 2001 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a staff member of the North Carolina Law Review. He also received the Gressman-Pollitt Award for Outstanding Oral Advocacy. In 1996, Jim graduated from Davidson College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science where he was a member of Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars and the Dean Rusk Program for International Studies. He participated in a study abroad program at Oxford University in England where he pursued a course of study in international relations and politics. |
