James E. Mann joined Southwest Water Company as vice president, controller, in September 2005. He is responsible for generating timely and accurate consolidated financial statements, internal and external financial reporting, accounting policies and procedures, managing and developing appropriate internal controls, and maintaining compliance with GAAP, SEC and other regulations. He is also actively involved with annual planning, acquisitions integration and special projects.
Mr. Mann began his career in 1975 as an audit manager at KPMG. In 1982 he joined Technicolor, Inc., as corporate controller and was soon promoted to vice president, finance and assistant treasurer. In the following years, Mr. Mann worked for Kerr Glass Manufacturing Corporation as assistant treasurer and for Mobile Technology, Inc., as vice president, finance. In 1992, Mr. Mann joined DeCrane Aircraft Holdings, Inc., a producer of avionics and interiors for commercial and corporate aircraft. He advanced from his starting position as controller to vice president for SEC compliance. Appointed in 1999, he was responsible for all external reporting to the SEC, stockholders and lenders as well as compliance with all SEC and federal and state income tax regulations.
