James E. Rosini has over 25 years' experience, at Kenyon & Kenyon, in litigation and counseling matters concerning all aspects of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights and unfair competition as well as related entertainment, publishing, music, computer, Internet, domain name and right of publicity issues. Mr. Rosini is a member of the firm's Executive Committee and is the head of Kenyon & Kenyon's Trademark, Copyright and Design Practice Group which is comprised of about forty members.
Mr. Rosini counsels intellectual property owners on the scope and validity of their properties. Although he has handled many high-profile cases for Fortune 50 companies with great success, Mr. Rosini also offers clients expertise in mediations and creative solutions to avoid litigation. In addition, he has extensive experience in advising clients concerning intellectual property issues involved in mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Rosini's broad range of clients includes the world's largest retailer, the world's largest telecommunications company, one of the world's largest software companies, hard copy and on-line publishers, the world's largest electronic game company, the author of the world's best selling book, the most famous environmental and ocean conservation society in the world, the world's largest Internet advertising company, the world's largest athletic shoe retailer and distributor, well-known hedge funds and financial institutions, as well as manufacturers of everything from coffee to amusement park rides.
Mr. Rosini is a member of many bar associations' sections and committees on intellectual property and entertainment law, including the American Bar Association, the International Bar Association, the New York Intellectual Property Law Association, the New York County Lawyer's Association, the U.S. Copyright Society, and the International Trademark Association.
Mr. Rosini is quoted and featured in some of the world's leading publications, such as Fortune Magazine and the Wall Street Journal, on topics related to trademark, copyrights and intellectual property law. He is a regular contributor of articles to the World Copyright Law Report, and he has authored and co-authored many articles in the intellectual property field covering such topics as halting trade mark and copyright piracy, European trademark law, copyright protection for computer software, trends in US trade mark law and international intellectual property treaties for publications such as The New York Law Journal and the Licensing Journal.
Mr. Rosini has presented speeches in the domestic and international arena on trademark, copyright, the internet, and branding issues. He has been both moderator and speaker for The New York New Media Association's Intellectual Property Seminar Series for Information Technology Companies, and has been an adjunct professor at New York Law School.
Mr. Rosini is actively involved in, and performs pro bono work on behalf of, charitable organizations such as Renovation House and the All Stars Project, and is listed in Who's Who in American Law, the International Who's Who of Professionals, the Guide to the World's Leading Trade Mark Law Practitioners, the Honors Edition of Madison's Who's Who, and has received the highest professional rating of AV from Martindale-Hubbell.
