James E. Brunner is senior vice president and general counsel for CMS Energy
and its principal subsidiary Consumers Energy. As chief legal officer Brunner is responsible for all corporate legal matters and running the legal department. He was elected senior vice president and general counsel for CMS Energy and Consumers in 2006. He had been the vice president and general counsel of Consumers since 2004.Brunner was also the utility�s assistant general counsel in charge of litigation. He joined Consumers Energy in 1977.A native of Spring Lake Mich. Brunner holds an engineering degree from the University of Michigan and a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School. He holds membership in the Jackson County Mich. Bar Association and the American Bar Association.He is on the Summit Township Zoning Board of Appeals and serves on the United
Way Investment Cabinet in Jackson. In his free time Brunner has coached his children�s soccer and baseball teams.Brunner and his wife Rosemary live in Jackson County�s Summit Township with their three teenage sons Matthew Jacob and Seth. |
