James E. Sailer is director of the Population Council's Corporate Affairs Division. He has responsibility for the human resources, information technology, and administrative services departments of the Council, and is involved in the Council's management of product licensing and industry relationships. He also led the Council's recent strategic planning initiative.
Before joining the Council, Sailer directed an accountability initiative for Chancellor Joel Klein as part of the schools reform in New York City. He also served as chief operating officer at Privista, a high-tech company based in New York. Prior to that, he was a senior manager at Accenture and managing director at West End New Media, both consulting firms. He has worked extensively in the nonprofit, government, and private-sector fields, with clients including AOL Time Warner, Scholastic, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and the State of Ohio.
Sailer is an adjunct professor at Brooklyn College, City University of New York, and holds a B.A. in political science from Swarthmore College and a master's in public policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. |
