James Banks is the Business Agent and Financial Secretary for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America, Local 627, in Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Banks has been in the construction industry for more than 30 years, beginning as an apprentice and rising through the ranks to his current position. In addition, he serves as Warden to the Council and is a member of the Executive Board for the Florida Carpenters Regional Council both of which are positions elected by fellow peers in the industry. Mr. Banks also serves as a Trustee to the Health & Welfare Board in addition to the Apprenticeship Committee. Through hard work and commitment his goal is to serve the construction industry by providing quality labor to contractors while supporting fair wage and benefits to the worker. As Financial Secretary, Mr. Banks plays a key role in ensuring the fiscal soundness of the Local and as Business Agent he is committed to increasing the role of union labor. |
