Jim Fannon is counsel in the Labor and Employment practice of the firm's HR Law Practice Group. His practice comprises labor and employment matters ranging from litigating traditional labor, employment discrimination, and wage and hour class action cases, to drafting personnel policies, handbooks and contracts, to counseling clients regarding various federal and state employment laws.
Labor and Employment Litigation. Jim litigates employment cases, including class actions, in federal and state court, at trial and on appeal, and has represented clients before the NLRB, the EEOC and similar agencies in several states. Jim also represents clients in arbitrating employment disputes, including those arising from collectively-bargained and non-collectively-bargained employment contracts.
Client Counseling. Jim counsels and assists clients in complying with state and federal laws affecting the employment relationship. This includes, for example, labor relations laws, discrimination and handicap statutes, family and medical leave laws, child labor laws, wage and hour laws, wage payment and collection laws, wiretapping statutes, whistleblower laws, fair credit reporting laws, and common-law privacy and other principles.
In General. Before entering law school, Jim worked as a collection supervisor for Navistar Financial Corporation (formerly International Harvester Credit Corporation) and served as a legal specialist in the U.S. Army. Jim also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Dolores K. Sloviter, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. |
