In 1996, Harry Frampton offered Jim the position of Managing Broker for Slifer Smith & Frampton Vail Associates Real Estate, a real estate brokerage firm with over 100 brokers and sales over $1 billion dollars annually. BACKGROUND Jim Flaum grew up on the East side of Cleveland, Ohio. He started his real estate career in San Diego, California in 1969 as a real estate broker. In 1972 he started a general real estate brokerage firm, which grew to 130 agents in southern California. Jim moved to Vail, Colorado in 1979 where he became involved in real estate brokerage and developed high-end vacation homes. In the early 1980's he was Managing Broker for Vail Associates Real Estate when Harry Frampton was president of Vail Associates, Inc. In 1986 he moved to Atlanta, Georgia and was president of East West Partners of Georgia and developed a single-family home community called Country Lake. In 1990, he moved to Jacksonville, Florida to be Vice President of Sales and Marketing for an East West Partners community called Eagle Harbor, a 4,000 home/golf course community. EDUCATION Jim graduated from Miami of Ohio in 1967 with a degree in Management and Marketing. After graduation he completed the Aviation Officer program for the Navy and spent four years as a Navy Pilot. COMMUNITY SERVICE Jim currently serves on the Board of Directors for WestStar Banks. |
