During his career Jim has worked with more than 60 of the largest research institutions and academic medical centers and over 25 independent research institutions and hospitals.
Professional Experience
Assisted several academic medical centers and research universities with the development of a strategic plan for the research enterprise.
Led an engagement to provide a large state university system with an assessment and benchmark analysis of the administrative operations at multiple campuses and the central office.
Conducted a feasibility assessment for the school of medicine at a major public research university regarding the design and development of a financial and management reporting system.
Led two engagements to design and develop research administration software for large software companies.
Led an engagement to redesign administrative business processes at a major research university.
Developed a strategic plan targeted at the administrative operations of a large multi-campus public research university.
Managed multiple engagements focused on the improvement of financial reporting and cost allocation. This included development of institution-wide cost of instruction and cost of research analyses and the review of cost allocation systems for assigning indirect costs to academic departments auxiliaries and hospitals.
Worked with several universities to develop internal controls and systems to enhance compliance with Federal and other regulations.
