James J. Hohman is a corporate Vice President of OMNOVA Solutions Inc. since November 2001, and President of its Performance Chemicals business segment since February 2005. The business produces emulsion polymers and specialty chemical additives used by paper and carpet manufacturing mills and in specialty applications such as nonwovens, construction, textiles and floor care. OMNOVA Solutions had $810 million in sales in 2005.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Hohman served as President of the Paper & Carpet Chemicals division of Performance Chemicals since December 2000, and Vice President of the Specialty Chemicals division of Performance Chemicals since April 2000. Previously, Mr. Hohman served as Vice President of the Paper Chemicals business of OMNOVA�s former parent, GenCorp, since November 1998.
Mr. Hohman joined GenCorp in 1996, serving as Director, Strategic Business Development for Specialty Polymers. He led negotiations for several key acquisitions made by GenCorp and OMNOVA, including the Goodyear/Calhoun, Georgia latex facility and the U.S. specialty chemicals businesses of Sequa Chemicals and PolymerLatex.
Prior to GenCorp, Mr. Hohman held key business and marketing management positions with BP Chemicals and B.F. Goodrich.
Mr. Hohman earned his bachelor�s degree in Chemistry from The Ohio State University and his MBA from the University of Louisville.
