Jim Lindemann runs Emerson�s motors and appliance components operations which posted sales of $2.2 billion in fiscal 2006. He first joined the Emerson Motor division in 1977 as a technician and later was an application engineer. After taking a two-year break to complete his MBA degree, he rejoined Emerson in 1983 and held various marketing positions for the Specialty Motor division. In 1992, Lindemann was named president of Emerson Camco division. In 1995, he became president of the Emerson Appliance Motor division. In 1996, Lindemann was promoted to chairman and chief executive officer of the Emerson Motor Co. He was named senior vice president of Emerson in 1999 and became business leader of the motors and appliance components business segment. He was promoted to executive vice president in 2000.
Lindemann served in the U.S. Navy from 1974 to 1977. He received a bachelor�s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri and an MBA degree from Duke University.
