James Mager is an associate vice president for Noel-Levitz. His areas of specialization include strategic planning for marketing, recruitment and retention, enrollment management research, and operations analysis. Dr. Mager has consulted with a number of institutions including long-term consultations with the University of South Carolina, Florida State University, Florida International University, Louisiana Tech University, and Tennessee Tech University.
Previous campus experience
Dr. Mager offers 30 years of experience in a variety of enrollment management positions, all at The Ohio State University. Serving as associate vice president of enrollment management at Ohio State, he led the university�s enrollment management efforts, overseeing the offices of admissions, first-year experience, financial aid, and the university registrar. Previously he served as director of admissions and financial aid and as a systems analyst.
Enrollment results credited to Dr. Mager�s leadership include higher quality freshman classes, greater ethnic and geographic diversity, and stronger retention and graduation rates. He was instrumental in helping Ohio State to implement selective admissions policies.
