Mr. TerBeest has 34 years of financial and accounting experience including 23 years in public accounting with Ernst & Young and 11 years as Chief Financial Officer for companies in the health care and home improvement industries. Four of the last 11 years he has been a partner in a small CPA firm that he co-founded in 2000, and has functioned as a contract CFO for a number of clients.
His background with Ernst & Young was in the audit department. The last nine years of his tenure with Ernst & Young was as a partner supervising large national and international clients. His largest client was BATUS, a $5 billion U.S. subsidiary of British American Tobacco, with significant retail holdings that included Saks Fifth Avenue and Marshall Fields.
As auditor and more recently as CFO for various companies, he has participated in major financings, due diligence in connection with acquisitions, initial public offerings, and work related to divestitures. His background includes all of the traditional accounting, finance and treasury functions, and his responsibilities have included cost, tax, general accounting, budgeting and forecasting, internal control design and evaluation, SEC financial reporting and auditing.
Mr. TerBeest graduated magna cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a B.S. degree in accounting. He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1973. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and several state societies.
Mr. TerBeest has been a Board member of the Japan/American Society promoting better business relations with Japanese businesses located in North America. He has also been a Board member of civic and religious organizations in his local community. |
