James L. Goldman is a partner in the firm�s Los Angeles office. Mr. Goldman�s practice consists of all aspects of real estate litigation, including construction defect litigation, contract disputes, loan workouts, judicial foreclosures and related litigation such as receiverships, valuation issues and lender liability.
In addition, Mr. Goldman has extensive experience litigating cases involving corporate finance, account and auditing issues, including cases concerning the federal and state securities laws and RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization) claims.
During his more than 25 years of practice, Mr. Goldman has both lectured and published materials with respect to a variety of topics, including judicial and non-judicial foreclosures as well as securities fraud class actions. He has participated in panel presentations sponsored by the Federal Bar Association and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers. Additionally, Mr. Goldman served on the board of editors for Class Action Report (1986-1996) as well as the Los Angeles Lawyer (1992-1995).
Currently, Mr. Goldman serves as the president of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and has been a member of its executive board since 1990. Past memberships include serving on the board of governors for the Association of Business Trial Lawyers (1987-1989). In addition, Mr. Goldman has acted as a Los Angeles Municipal/Superior Court-appointed arbitrator.
