James M. Griffin is a Professor of Economics and Public Policy in the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University. He holds the Bob Bullock chair in Public Policy and Finance. His fields of specialization include energy economics, antitrust, and regulatory issues. His textbook with Henry Steele was the leading text in the field of energy economics. Much of his academic research has focused on energy related topics ranging from analyses of OPEC and the world oil market to energy demand estimation. He has also maintained an active interest in regulatory matters as they relate to pipelines and to telecommunications, with published papers appearing in the Review of Economics and Statistics and The Journal of Law and Economics. At Texas A&M, courses in econometrics, antitrust and regulation occupy his teaching agenda. He is a Humboldt Fellow, an editorial board member for three economics journals, and a member of Who's Who in Economics. In addition to his academic credentials, Griffin brings extensive experience in litigation and general consulting. For example, he was instrumental in helping the Environmental Protection Agency formulate rules regarding existing onshore oil wells. Most recently, he has been involved in oil royalty litigation and assorted antitrust cases. |
