James R. Pender serves as Honorary Chairman of the Board of Oswald Companies in Cleveland and Chairman Emeritus of Oswald, Trippe & Company in Florida. Jim joined Oswald Companies in 1959 as an agent for Property and Casualty, Life and Benefits. He became President in 1965 and moved to the position of CEO and Chairman of the Board in 1980.
Jim served as the President of the Cleveland Chapter of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters in 1968. Over the years, he has taught a variety of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter courses. Oswald Companies was proud to have Jim serve as Chairman of Assurex International from 1987-1988.
Education and Professional Affliations
Mr. Pender is a graduate of Yale University, having earned his bachelor�s degree in 1959. He received his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters designation in 1964, Certified Life Underwriters in 1993, ChFC in 1994, and his ARM in 1971. Jim is also very involved in several non-profit organizations in the Cleveland area. He is Co-Chairman of the Advisory Board for The Cleveland Foundation, Chairman of the Board for Camp Ho Mita Koda, and is a Board Member of Playhouse Square Foundation. |
