James R. Schulz practices before the trial and appellate courts of Georgia, both federal and state. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, earned his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University, and his law degree from New York University. After graduation he practiced with the Park Avenue firm of Olwine, Connelly, Chase, O'Donnell & Weyer. He came to Atlanta in 1982 and became associated with the firm of Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy. Mr. Schulz left Powell Goldstein to become an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia. He left the U.S. Attorney's Office after thirteen years to become a partner with the bankruptcy firm of Ragsdale, Beals, Hooper & Seigler, LLP. He joined Miller Hamilton in 2006. Mr. Schulz is a member of the bars of Georgia and New York and is admitted to practice before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the United States District Courts for Northern District of Georgia and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the United States Supreme Court, and the United States Tax Court. He has appeared before trial courts in Butts, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, Henry, Morgan, and Rockdale Counties. He served on the faculty of the Kessler-Eidson Trial Techniques Program at Emory University Law School from 1987-2000.
