From April 1998 to May 2003 Mr. Sulat served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Chiron Corporation a major biotechnology company where his responsibilities included business development and investor relations in addition to the financial management functions of the company. Prior to joining Chiron Mr. Sulat was the Chief Financial Officer of Stanford Health Services the clinical healthcare delivery arm of the Stanford University Medical Center from September 1993 to October 1997. In November 1997 Stanford Health Services merged with the clinical care facilities of the University of California San Francisco and Mr. Sulat served as the Treasurer of the merged entity UCSF Stanford Health Care. From May 2003 to February 2004 Mr. Sulat was the Senior Executive Vice President of Moore Wallace Incorporated. Following the acquisition of Moore Wallace by R.R. Donnelley and Sons Company in February 2004 Mr. Sulat became Chief Financial Officer of R.R. Donnelley and served in this position until May 2004. Mr. Sulat is a director of Maxygen Inc. a developer of protein therapeutics and Intercell AG a developer of vaccines for the prevention and treatment of major infectious diseases that is listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange. Mr. Sulat holds a BS from Yale University an MBA from Stanford University and an MS in health services administration from Stanford University.
