Jim Kahan, senior executive vice president-corporate development, is responsible for all domestic and international mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and venture capital investments for AT&T Inc. and its subsidiaries. He was appointed to this position at the former SBC in October 1999.
Previously, Mr. Kahan served as senior vice president-corporate development since 1992, assuming additional responsibilities of strategic planning and marketing and development of long-term business growth strategies from 1993 through 1995. He began his telecommunications career with Western Electric in St. Louis in 1967 and joined Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1983.
Mr. Kahan serves on the Business Advisory Board for the University of Texas at San Antonio. He also serves on the boards of Chase Communications, AMDOCS and a number of AT&T subsidiaries.
A Missouri native, Mr. Kahan earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University in 1969 and a master's degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina in 1972. |
