Jim co-chairs the firm's Health Law and Insurance Practice Group. He is a business lawyer who focuses on legal issues that relate to: Health law Managed care InsuranceHe represents various hospitals, long-term care facilities and physicians. Jim has been involved in numerous provider joint ventures including the formation of CareChoice, the nation's first long-term care cooperative.He has served as an advisor to the American Hospital Association, the Minnesota Hospital and Healthcare Partnership, the Minnesota Health and Housing Alliance and numerous trade associations around the country.In addition to health law, he provides corporate, securities, merger, litigation and regulatory counsel to many managed care companies and insurers. He has also served as special outside counsel to several Minnesota Commissioners of Commerce.Jim provides transactional counsel to life, property and casualty, and worker's compensation insurance companies. This includes representation of Minnesota Life Insurance Company in its 1998 reorganization as a mutual insurance holding company, as well as sales of companies and lines of business, reorganizations, demutualizations and reinsurance transactions.He is a frequent speaker at the state and national levels. |
