As Apogee's vice president of strategy and planning since 2002, Jim has provided leadership in development of the company�s strategic priorities, which focus on growing Apogee�s core businesses, obtaining new revenues from extensions of these businesses, and achieving higher profitability on the company�s revenues. Jim has also played a key role in the sale of non-strategic businesses, including Harmon AutoGlass and the framing matboard product line. In addition, he outsourced Apogee�s internal audit function to a big four accounting firm.
Jim joined Apogee in 1997 as assistant corporate controller, and was promoted to controller in 1998 and then vice president of finance and planning in 2000. Previously he spent seven years at Rollerblade where he moved up to vice president of finance and controller. Jim also gained financial experience at Ecolab and Oscar Meyer Foods Corporation.
He holds an MBA from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, and a bachelor�s in finance from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. |
