At the start of his extensive career, James T. Bartlett was an Associate and then Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Co. Subsequently, he became a Partner-Founder of Dryden & Company, a private equity investment firm, and afterwards a Partner-Founder of Fernwood Associates, a private equity partnership investing in manufacturing companies in New England. Jim represented Fernwood Associates as a senior operating or financial person in a variety of companies. Next, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Acme-Cleveland Corporation, a Cleveland-based manufacturer of machine tools, telecommunication equipment and electronic components. From Acme-Cleveland, Jim joined Primus Venture Partners as Managing Director. Primus Venture Partners manages private equity capital through a series of limited partnerships involving industrial products, telecommunications, software, medical devices and services and outsourced business services. Jim retired from active involvement in Primus Venture Partners in 2003 but remains a member of the Advisory Board.Jim has served and serves on a number of Boards of Directors, Advisory Boards and non-profit Trusteeships. Among these, he is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Lamson & Sessions, a NYSE listed multi-faceted manufacturer, and he is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Cleveland Art Museum. Jim holds a B.A. cum laude from Amherst College and an M.B.A. (with distinction) from the Harvard Business School. |
