Jim Baker came to LMA with over 39 years of manufacturing experience. He served as manager of HR for a nationally known government contractor for more than 13 years and an HR generalist for a Fortune 500 paper company. Jim has firsthand, in-depth experience in staffing, compensation, setting up HR systems in new facilities, Affirmative Action compliance audits, fringe benefit and HR metrics analysis as well as design / delivery of a wide variety of training programs.
At LMA, Jim applies this workplace experience and knowledge to help companies and organizations improve HR systems and processes. His extensive experience in placement processes help clients to make significant improvements in their contractor recruitment systems. Jim has also has in-depth experience in legal aspects of reduction in force (RIF) actions.
Jim is an advisory board member of the Crispus Attucks Employment Center in York, a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and a past president of the Hanover SHRM Chapter. He is past president of the Employee Relations Council of South Central PA, past president of the Hanover Industrial Management Club and also served as president of the Baltimore Industry (OFCCP) Liaison Group.
A graduate of York College of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Jim earned his Masters of Administrative Science from Johns Hopkins University.
