James E.K. Hildreth M.D. Ph.D. is a member of the Lipid Sciences' Viral Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Hildreth is the Director of the Center for Health Disparities Research in HIV and Professor of Medicine at Meharry Medical College in Nashville Tennessee. Dr. Hildreth is also Professor (Adjunct) of Pharmacology and Molecular Sciences at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore Maryland.
Prior to joining Meharry in July 2005 Dr. Hildreth was a Professor of Pharmacology and Molecular Sciences and of Pathology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (positions he held since 1994 and 1996 respectively).
Dr. Hildreth is a current member of the National Institutes of Health/the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (AIDS Research Review Study Section). His research has been focused on the relationship between adhesion molecules lipid rafts and the biology of human retroviruses (HIV).
He has published more than 70 articles on related subjects and is an inventor on three patents/pending applications. Dr. Hildreth received his M.D. at Johns Hopkins his Ph.D. from Oxford University England and his A.B. in Chemistry from Harvard University. |
