James Hopwood has 20 years of experience in a broad base of financial management positions. He has indepth experience in accounting, auditing, banking, credit extension, financial planning, human resources, information systems, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, risk management SEC reporting, strategic planning, tax and treasury activities. James was most recently the Chief Financial Officer at one of the nation's largest publicly traded building materials company. He was responsible for strategic divestitures of operations with revenues in excess of $1.1 billion He was instrumental in developing and implementing short-range and long-range business plans, acquisition strategies and financing structures.
He started his career within the same publicly traded entity as Manager of Financial Analysis and played a key role in supporting management's $330 million leveraged-buyout of a division. He moved on to Goldman Sachs & Co where he served as Controller with oversight responsibility for financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, accounting and administrative activities. He successfully reduced accounts payable and administrative costs by more than 50% by implementing improved processes and head count reductions.
University of Chicago awarded James an MBA with honors with a focus in Finance. James also earned his Bachelor of Business in Finance from Western Illinois University.
