James Iremonger is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery UK LLP, based in its London office. He is a member of the Banking & Finance Group where he advises major banks, lenders, corporate institutions and stakeholders on a wide range of finance transactions.
Prior to joining McDermott, James was an associate in the Restructuring Group at another leading international law firm where he primarily worked on non-contentious insolvency and restructuring matters.
Representative Experience
Advising two major clearing banks in relation to the restructuring of various bilateral facilities advanced by both banks to a UK listed company, taking and perfecting new security (both local and overseas) and advising in relation to complex inter-creditor and Pensions Regulator issues.
Advising a major clearing bank in its capacity as co-ordinator and security trustee in relation to the restructuring of facilities with a UK listed company and dealing with the disposal of both US and UK based financially distressed subsidiaries.
Advising a major clearing bank in relation to its security and the facilities granted by it to a complicated group of companies in connection with a major hotel development, including advising on third party rights, inter-creditor issues and step-in rights of mezzanine funders.
Advising the administrators of the MVC group of companies from entry to exit including the disposal of the business and assets and dealing with the claims of creditors.
Acting for the administrative receivers of the Solid State Logic Group in relation to the disposal of its business and assets and the sale of its European and US subsidiaries.
