Jim McLean brings to LCG the distinct experience of having two successful careers, in both profit and non profit sectors. He spent the first twenty years of his professional life focused on the financial aspect of public school administration. His final position within education, as superintendent of a top tiered Michigan school district was due in part to his skills in successful bond issue passage, new facility construction management, fiscal responsibility to taxpayers, and sound leadership principles. Jim left education to go to a large, Fortune 200, privately-held retail company operating in five Midwest states, Meijer Corporation. He was instrumental in developing the "big box" grocery/discount company and implementing it into 156 stores, 37 of which were done while he was CEO and President. As CEO and President, his chief ambitions were to decentralize decision making, foster team building, and open communications to 90,000 employees. His proficiency and pragmatic focus in the areas of team-based problem solving, senior-level executive coaching, negotiations, and strategy development are the basis for his consultative expertise. Jim has a bachelor's degree in Accounting, a MA in Educational Administration, post graduate training at the Harvard School of Business, and currently resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan. |
