James has spent 35 years in Sales, Marketing and Finance throughout his career. Mr. Spear spent 26 years in various management positions within Atlantic Richfield Co. a fortune 100 companies. During his tenure he became an expert in the Franchising business. Mr. Spear helped develop the models to determine best site selection and volume/sales predictions. Mr. Spear opened the first franchisee convenience store for Arco and became Vice President of their subsidiary company to oversee 350 company owned stores. He won several sales awards during his tenure.
Mr. Spear opened a new Tune-Up Franchise for Arco in the Boston Market and then came back and opened up the successful MPG Tune-UP Franchise for Arco in the Los Angeles and west coast market. Mr. Spear was in charge of recruiting salesmen to sell the Franchise, site selection, Franchise Training, Advertising, Marketing and Operations. He also was in charge of building new Franchise locations. Mr. Spear worked with General Contractors to build the stores on time within budget.
Mr. Spear finished his career at Arco in a wholly owned subsidiary that processed Debit and Credit Card transactions for the company. Mr. Spear was brought in to oversee the expansion to Petroleum accounts and Supermarkets. With his Masters Degree in Finance, Mr. Spear was promoted to controller of the subsidiary payment processing processor until he took early retirement to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities. |
