PRACTICE AREAS
Health Care Litigation
Janet Mittenfelner brings 20 years of combined law and health care experience to her health care litigation practice. She began her legal career in California where she primarily represented physicians in malpractice lawsuits and disciplinary actions before the board of healing arts. Since returning to the Kansas City area, she has focused her practice on hospital liability. Ms. Mittenfelner particularly enjoys defending nurses, because she herself is a registered nurse. She has practiced nursing in a variety of clincial areas including oncology, medical-surgical and maternal-child health. She also has experience providing legal counsel and giving presentations to health care entities on a variety of issues including risk management, patient rights, documentation, and policy and procedure.
