Jason M. Yarbrough is an associate of Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP and is a member of the firm's Business Litigation, Construction Law, Creditors' Rights, and Tort Litigation Groups.Mr. Yarbrough represents owners and contractors in public and private construction projects involving contract and warranty claims, the Pennsylvania Mechanic's Lien Law, Pennsylvania Contractor Subcontractor Payment Act, Uniform Construction Code, and Federal False Claims Act. He also reviews, revises, and drafts form documents for clients to minimize their potential liability for future claims.Mr. Yarbrough represents secured and unsecured creditors as well as landlords on a variety of issues that arise under the Bankruptcy Code. He also reviews, drafts and revises loan documents for clients in out-of-court workouts.Mr. Yarbrough's litigation experience also includes representation of individuals, corporations, and other business entities in civil and bankruptcy proceedings from mediation and pretrial matters through arbitrations, trial, and appellate courts. He is frequently involved in litigation involving contractual disputes, commercial lenders and creditors' rights.Mr. Yarbrough attended the University of Notre Dame, from which he graduated magna cum laude in 2001 receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. In 2004, he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law cum laude where he served as Research Editor for the University of Pittsburgh Law Review. Mr. Yarbrough is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States District Court of Western Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Allegheny County Bar Association, and serves as a representative of the 2007-2008 Allegheny County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Bar Leadership Initiative program and as a member of the YLD Members' Services Committee |
