Jason Sobol is a Vice President of the firm�s corporate advisory business.
Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Sobol was Vice President of Acquisitions for the Davis Companies, the holding company for Marvin Davis-controlled entities, focusing on private equity and leveraged buyout opportunities primarily in media and entertainment. Mr. Sobol was also a Principal of the Davis family�s venture fund, Stone Canyon Venture Partners, focusing on minority investments in early-staged media, communications and consumer businesses. Prior to Davis Companies, Mr. Sobol was Senior Director of Business Development for LAUNCH Media (Nasdaq: LAUN), which was acquired by Yahoo!, and prior to that, a financial analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions group of Goldman Sachs & Co.
In recent transactions at Evercore, Mr. Sobol was involved in the sale of J.D. Power and Associates to The McGraw-Hill Companies, the sale of Dice.com to a private equity consortium, the acquisitions of BrownCo and Harrisdirect by E*TRADE FINANCIAL, the sale of Medical World Communications to Ascend Media and the sale of PanAmSat Corporation to a private equity consortium. Other notable transactions include Pearson�s acquisition of Simon & Schuster, the merger of Disney�s Go.com and Infoseek, the divestiture of Cargill�s global hybrid seed business, the IPO of Portal Software and the recapitalization of C&H Sugar by Alexander & Baldwin.
Mr. Sobol received a B.A. in Economics, with honors, from Harvard University. |
