Jason graduated from Northwestern University School of Medicine in 1991. He completed his medical residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in 1994. Following a two-year stint as Instructor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, he entered training as a pulmonary/critical care fellow at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Following completion of his fellowship, he remained on faculty at the University of Colorado and at National Jewish Medical and Research Center for three years, as a member of the Clinical Interstitial Lung Disease Program. In 2002, Dr. Vourlekis joined the National Cancer Institute as a Program Director where he oversaw clinical trials related to lung cancer screening and prevention. He joined the Department of Medicine at Inova Fairfax Hospital in 2005 as a Medical Intensivist and is currently serving as the Medical Director of the Medical Critical Care Service. His clinical and research interests include acute lung injury/ARDS and sepsis. |
