Jay C. Ripps - Consulting Actuary FSA, MAAA Professional designations Fellow, Society of Actuaries Member, American Academy of Actuaries Current responsibility Jay is a consulting actuary with the San Francisco office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2001, after more than 30 years of actuarial experience with other firms.Experience Jay assists healthcare providers, health maintenance organizations, and insurance companies with the development and management of their managed care activities and risks. He has assisted major healthcare systems and large national insurance companies with these activities, including leading negotiations of managed care contracts and development of managed care products. Jay has assisted state government agencies in New York, Florida, Arizona, and California regarding insurance and managed care issues, including drafting of regulations and public testimony.He has also served as an expert witness regarding group insurance and managed care, including litigation with high visibility and national scope. In this capacity, he prepared expert witness reports and also defended them in depositions taken by opposing counsel. Jay is active in the actuarial profession's contributions to public policy formulation.
