Jay is the managing partner of Crystal Rock Capital Management, LLC, an investment management company specializing in managing a concentrated portfolio of publicly traded equities for private investors and family offices. Prior to founding Crystal Rock Capital Management, Jay created and managed CSFB's Global Valuation Strategy Group from 2000 through 2005. CSFB's unique Valuation Strategy Group was formed for the purpose of promoting a rigorous DCF-based framework that captures the mechanics of equity market valuation. The group provided insights into shareholder value creation for corporate Boards and strategic decision makers, institutional equity investors, and CSFB's global equity research department. Jay was also Chairman of CSFB's Focus Stock List.
Prior to joining the company, Jay was a managing director at Lincoln Capital Management. He was named to the Institutional Investor "Best of the Buy Side" list in both 1998 and 1996 for his coverage of the consumer nondurable and gaming subsectors. Before joining Lincoln Capital in early 1992, Jay was a senior vice president at Kidder, Peabody & Co., responsible for covering the household products and cosmetics industries. Jay was on the II All-America Research Team every year from 1985 to 1991, and was the top-rated household products analyst in 1990 and 1991.
Before graduate school, Jay worked for two years in public accounting and is also a CPA. He received a B.S. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1978 and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in 1982. He became a Chartered Financial Analyst in 1985. |
