Jay Alexander is Of Counsel at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, resident in the Washington, D.C. office, where he is a member of the firm's Litigation practice group. He has more than ten years of experience in patent and other complex Intellectual Property litigation involving trademarks, trade secrets, unfair competition and copyright issues. He has a special expertise in the federal appellate practice involving appeals in patent infringement cases and has been involved in numerous appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Alexander has a wealth of experience in patent litigation involving a variety of technologies, including biotechnology, computer software, communications networks, satellite technology, digital cellular telephony and semiconductors.
Prior to joining Milbank in August 2002, Mr. Alexander was a Senior Counsel at Fulbright & Jaworski, and was a Partner at Kirkland & Ellis. From 1990 to 1992, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Pauline Newman, Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and previously was a Patent Examiner in the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
Mr. Alexander is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and pro hac vice in various United States District Courts. He also is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Illinois and is registered to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
Mr. Alexander received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, in May 1990 from the Northwestern University School of Law where he was awarded the Order of the Coif. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University in 1985. |
