Jay M. Short, Ph.D., has served as a Director of Invitrogen since February 1995. Dr. Short is currently the Executive Director and Chairman of the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation. Dr. Short is also a founder of Diversa Corporation, and served as Chief Technology Officer and Director of the company since its inception in 1994. He assumed the additional roles of President from 1998 and Chief Executive Officer from 1999 until 2006. Prior to joining Diversa Corporation, Dr. Short served as President of Stratacyte, Inc. and Vice President of Research and Development and Operations for Stratagene Cloning Systems, both molecular biology companies. Dr. Short serves as a Director for Senomyx, Inc. and Stressgen Biotechnologies. Dr. Short received his B.A. in Chemistry from Taylor University and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Case Western Reserve University. |
