Jay S. Loeffler, MD, FACR, is an honors graduate of Williams College and completed his medical degree at Brown University School of Medicine. Since 1986 he has served on the faculty at Harvard Medical School where he completed his residency and chief residency in radiation oncology. He is currently the Herman & Joan Suit Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School and serves as Chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Loeffler is an authority on the treatment of primary and malignant brain tumors. He is an author of 170 peer reviewed publications and is the editor of 9 textbooks. He has served as the principal investigator on a large program project grant from the National Cancer Institute concerning proton therapy. |
