Jay Bolgatz brings 21 years of commercial software experience to Exit41. He has been Engineering V.P. or Director at SunGard BSR, Iron Mountain, Informix, Digital and Revenio.
While at SunGard BSR, Jay improved the engineering team's ability to execute at every phase of the software development life cycle - cutting the average number of defects in half and improving quality benchmark (QB metric) by a factor of ten, leading to more predictable schedules and improved customer satisfaction. At Iron Mountain (formerly Connected) Jay trained his staff on best practices, shipped two releases of two different products while managing the merger of a 65 person development team. While at Revenio (a software startup) Jay drove five releases of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) thin-client application that is still in use today. At Informix, Jay successfully led the development of an Extraction, Transformation and Load (ETL) application which involved the integration of a third party directed graph UI with transformation modules developed by an offshore team. While at Digital, he successfully managed both remote and local teams and oversaw the acquisition of Odesta. Jay also pioneered gathering user feedback during the development process (a precursor to Rapid Application Development - RAD) that lead to a patent application.
Jay received a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. |
