Practice Areas Jean Harrington, a partner in the firm, concentrates her practice in the areas of corporate and securities, commercial lending, private equity financing and real estate law. Ms. Harrington is engaged in a diverse business and corporate practice serving various industries, including manufacturing, technology, construction and real estate. She represents management teams, individual investors, and corporate buyers and sellers in acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and other commercial transactions. Work for Clients Ms. Harrington has assisted clients in the formation of start-up businesses, the raising of debt and equity capital, the negotiation of employment agreements, and the purchase and sale of properties. She has been involved in both public and private securities offerings and issues involving reporting and disclosure requirements of publicly traded companies. Ms. Harrington has served as borrower's counsel in complex lending transactions as well as lender's counsel to many of the large financial institutions in the Northeast. Professional Activities Ms. Harrington is active as a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association where she is a frequent speaker on the subject of corporations for new attorneys. She is also a member of the American Bar Association and its committees on taxation, business and real property. She is a member of the ABA 's Forum on the Construction Industry, and is a state liaison to the Committee on Corporate Laws of the ABA Business Law Section. She is a member of the Board of Directors for Brown University's WBRU, one of the few college radio stations that operate on an independent, commercial basis without funding from its college.
