Jean Basom joined Saint Alphonsus in 1981 as an ICU Nurse and has served in many capacities including, Manager of Critical Care, Director of Critical Care, Heart & Vascular Center, Idaho Neurological Institute, Cancer Care Center and the In-patient Pain Service. Jean was the Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development for 1.5 years prior to her appointment to Vice President of Corporate Development/Marketing in 2006. She has been instrumental in building many programs and services within Saint Alphonsus and integrating them into the surrounding communities. She brings nearly 36 years of clinical experience and 23 years of management experience to the hospital's senior management team. The hospital's Heart & Vascular Center won three Top 100 in the nation awards under her direction. She also brings a broad-based scope of experiences to her work due to past hospital positions in Ohio, Washington D.C., Texas and Oklahoma.
Jean earned her bachelors of Science degree in nursing from Case Western Reserve University and her masters of business administration from Boise State University where she graduated outstanding MBA student. In addition, she has taken numerous high-level training courses in total quality management, change management, management training, multiple clinical certifications and re-certifications, as well as extensive clinical training studies. She is a member of ACHE, Phi Kappa Phi and serves on the Boise State Alumni Board.
Jean was the recipient of the YWCA's TWIN Award in 2000 and the Saint Alphonsus President's Commendation Award in 2006. She serves on many committees and boards for Saint Alphonsus including Planning & Finance, Corporate Compliance & Operational Integrity, Ethics Committee, Physican's Advisory Council, SIRL Board, Caldwell Cancer Care Center Board, Idaho Gyn/Oncolgy Services LLC and Intermountain Medical Imaging Board.
Jean's extensive clinical experience, her various management responsibilities and her 26-year career at Saint Alphonsus has been a tremendous asset to Saint Alphonsus and the community. |
