Jeff Williams started his career at Ciba (Novartis) before moving to GlaxoWellcome, collectively spending 11 years in various marketing, sales and business development positions at these companies. During this period, he pioneered some of the earliest direct-to-consumer advertising campaigns within the industry and shared marketing-based responsibility for one of the largest Phase IV studies ever conducted at the time (over 10,000 patients). Jeff left big pharma in 1995 to become Senior Vice President/co-founder of HealthMatics, a clinical applications software company that introduced the HealthMatics electronic health record platform. He was responsible for all commercial aspects of the business. The company was sold in 1999. Jeff subsequently joined a venture capital firm focused on starting and incubating start-up companies where he was involved in identifying and evaluating new business opportunities, many of them in healthcare. The firm subsequently tapped Jeff to co-found and lead NextAudio, an Internet services company where he was CEO. In 2001 Jeff merged this company with Koz to create a new Internet services company called MediaSpan. As president, Jeff helped expand the company to over 200 employees and over $26 million in sales in the first 2 years. In 2003 Jeff left MediaSpan to bring his clinical software, Internet services and pharmaceutical experience together to form Clinipace. Jeff has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with minors in Business Management and Biology from the University of Tampa. Jeff serves as Chairman, Board of Directors for Clinipace. He also serves on the Board of Directors for CampbellAlliance, the premiere management consulting firm specializing in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries and Cathedral Corporation, a leader in print and electronic data output services. In 2007 Jeff was named to the PharmaVoice 100, an annual listing of the 100 most influential people in the life sciences industry. |
