Jeff brings to The Sextant Group significant practical experience on top of a solid formal education. His experience with acoustic and vibration research and design spans environmental acoustic testing and measurement for government, corporate, institutions, broadcast and education including projects for The Pentagon, National Institute of Health, Federal Securities and Exchange Commission, and The World Bank. While at The Sextant Group, Jeff has been involved in a variety of residential and community projects. His residential experience includes sound isolation and noise control at Stonebridge Condominiums in Cleveland, The Encore on Seventh Street in downtown Pittsburgh and Summerset Condominiums at Frick Park also located in the Pittsburgh region. In addition, Jeff was in charge of acoustic design and renovation of several community spaces including the historic Hazlett Theater located in Pittsburgh's North Side and the Strand Theatre in Zelienople PA. Babich's work has touched many college and university campuses, such as West Virginia University's Oglebay Hall and Brooks Hall and Kent State University's Franklin Hall. Also, he has provided acoustical consultation for both Carnegie Mellon University's University Center and Collaborative Innovation Center that houses various corporate tenants such as Apple Computer, Google, and Intel Research. Jeff holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Acoustics & Audio from Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, and a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. He is accredited as a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) by InfoComm International, a member of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering (INCE), a pianist and trumpeter, and an active member of the Acoustical Society of America. |
