As senior vice president of human resources, Jeff Cottle has overall responsibilities for the daily operations as well as strategic direction for all areas of human resources, including employee relations, compensation and benefits, recruiting, employee communications, and employee training. Since joining SunGard Higher Education in 1987, Mr. Cottle has been instrumental in designing and improving the human capital management capabilities of the company. Through his leadership, SunGard Higher Education has developed the Strategic Human Resources Assessment and Review Program (SHARP); the employee training program; and a comprehensive manager support infrastructure that includes extensive management training, managerial tools, and self-service technologies for managers. Mr. Cottle also serves as an internal consultant on multiple organizational strategy issues. Mr. Cottle's previous roles with SunGard Higher Education include general manager, employee relations; director, employee relations; director, human resources; manager, personnel and benefits; supervisor, personnel; and recruiter. Prior to joining SunGard Higher Education, Mr. Cottle gained experience as employment manager at Drexel University. He also served as a recruiter for the Katharine Gibbs School.
