Dr. Himawan has more than 15 years of experience as a scientist, entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He has led investments and serves on the boards of Symphogen, Iomai, and MediciNova. Prior to joining Essex Woodlands, he was managing director and co-founder of Seed-One Ventures, where he managed the early corporate development of Elusys Therapeutics and Sensatex. Prior to Seed-One, he was a scientist in academic and industrial settings. He holds a B.S. in biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in biological chemistry and molecular pharmacology from Harvard University. |
