Jeff Wachter, who has over 25 years of experience in the high-voltage electrical field, is Vice President of Operations for Midwest Electric, focusing on customer satisfaction and safety. Before joining Midwest, Jeff served as the Business Manager and Assistant Business Manager of a Central and Southern Ohio utility local union of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).Areas of expertise include large project management and estimating, safety planning, and high-voltage maintenance for a variety of industries, such as utility, paper and pulp, automotive supply, food, food supply, and health care.In addition, Jeff:Has substation experience with 69 kV-765 kVIs a crew leader with 12 kV-765 kV overhead line experience Is a certified crane and heavy construction equipment operator Was a team member of the Steering Committee for Behavior Based Safety at American Electric Power Has more than 400 hours of high-voltage electric training Jeff�s commitment to the IBEW and a culture of safety is evident through his membership on the Local Union 575 Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and IBEW. He is also active in the regional chapter of the American Line Builders utility trade organization. In 2002, Jeff was appointed to the Governor�s Electric Employee Assistant Advisory Board, and was responsible for safety measures for the high-voltage AEP workers in central and southern Ohio. He is currently organizing a volunteer effort to support inner city youth in the memory of his lifelong friend Ron Turner. |
