Jeffery L. Smith serves as Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the firm�s Houston office. He is also the Global Leader of the Energy Sector and a member of DHR�s Financial Services Practice.Mr. Smith has over 23 years of corporate banking, investment banking and executive search experience. After spending several years at Korn/Ferry International, he left to assist in the formation of a boutique search firm focused on the field of corporate finance and energy. Mr. Smith has conducted numerous searches for a broad base of energy, technology, financial services, private equity, venture capital and related clients. He has completed searches for Investment Bankers, Commercial Bankers, Equity & Debt Analysts, Portfolio Managers, Traders, Risk Managers and many other transaction professionals. In the corporate arena he has completed searches for CEOs, COOs, CFOs, CIOs, Treasurers, Controllers and numerous other finance related positions. Recently Mr. Smith has spent time significant time working with private equity groups seeking executives for their portfolio company investments. Prior to joining the search industry, Mr. Smith spent fifteen years in corporate/investment banking at Chemical/JP Morgan Chase and NationsBanc Capital Markets. Originally from New York, after 23 years in Houston, Mr. Smith is an adopted Texan. He holds a BS in Chemistry from Hobart College and an MBA from Babson.
