Mr. Freedman is a member of the Estates and Private Clients Group. He is experienced in drafting wills and trusts, including without limitation, insurance trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, and other irrevocable trusts designed to minimize estate taxes. He counsels clients on estate and gift taxes as well as the transfer of assets among family members and inter-generational planning for family businesses.
Mr. Freedman is also experienced in all aspects of real estate acquisition, development and financing. He has extensive experience representing purchasers and sellers of real property. Mr. Freedman also represents numerous non-profit, educational organizations at both the secondary and higher education levels.

Structured and documented the transfer of a $10,000,000 parcel of commercial real estate from a father to a family limited liability company and the subsequent gifts of minority membership interests to members of the next generation, with potential estate tax savings in the millions of dollars
Structured and documented a qualified personal residence trust for a client who owned a valuable cooperative unit on Park Avenue, New York, New York
Restructured over $20,000,000 of life insurance for a client so as to avoid the inclusion of insurance proceeds in the client�s estate
