Bringing almost two decades of experience in wireless communications, networking, real-time image and signal processing, and integrated circuit design, Dr. Jeffrey M. Gilbert is responsible for SiBEAM's overall technical vision and core technology research and development. Prior to joining SiBEAM, Dr. Gilbert was the director of algorithms and architecture at Atheros Communications, a developer of wireless semiconductors. During his five year tenure at Atheros, Jeff led the development of Atheros' 802.11n, 802.11g, eXtended Range (XR), and Smart Antenna technologies, and managed the department responsible for the digital signal processing algorithms and various MAC & software algorithms. Prior to joining Atheros, Dr. Gilbert was the director of engineering at the Teratech Corporation, a start-up developing highly portable PC-based medical ultrasound imagers. Dr. Gilbert received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California Berkeley, M.Phil. in Computer Speech and Language Processing from Cambridge University, and B.A. in Computer Science from Harvard College. |
