Description of Practice:
Jeff is a partner in our Los Angeles office, practicing principally in the areas of partnership and corporate taxation.
Since joining the firm in 1996, Jeff has focused his practice on structuring the tax efficient acquisition, disposition and ownership of all types of tangible and intangible property. Jeff specializes in planning, structuring, negotiating and implementing business transactions, combinations, separations and financings involving both U.S. and non-U.S. entities (and disregarded entities).
A significant portion of Jeff's practice involves the formation, operation, restructuring and dissolution of partnerships owning real estate. Jeff regularly advises with respect to tax issues involving public and private real estate investment trusts, umbrella partnership real estate investment trusts, real estate investment funds and real estate-owning tax-exempt entities. Jeff is often retained by clients with substantial real estate portfolios to solve complex partnership tax issues and structure large and complicated transactions.
Jeff is a member of the California State Bar Association and Los Angeles County Bar Association, Taxation Sections.
Educational History:
Jeff received a Master of Laws Degree in Taxation from New York University School of Law, a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Dalhousie University School of Law (Halifax, Nova Scotia) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario). |
