Mr. Hughes is Vice Chairman and a founding partner of The Cypress Group, a New York based private equity firm established in 1994 with more than $3.5 billion in funds under management. Prior to Cypress, Mr. Hughes spent 26 years at Lehman Brothers as a senior investment banker and merchant banker. Mr. Hughes joined Lehman in 1968 and became a partner in 1976.
Mr. Hughes is a graduate of Wesleyan University and the Duke University Law School, where he is a member of the Board. In addition, Mr. Hughes is Chairman of the Duke Global Capital Markets Center and a Trustee of the Park Avenue Methodist Church Trust and The Battery Conservancy. Mr. Hughes also serves as a Director for Communications & Power Industries, Inc., Cypress Sharpridge Investments, Inc., and Financial Guaranty Insurance Company. |
